This book is about Repeaters in the Amateur Experimental Radio Service, that is Repeaters run by Hams. (There are also commercial repeaters.) A repeater station is usually physically situated in a high location, like the top of a high hill or the CN Tower, to let it send and receive signals for less powerful stations. This arrangement lets all stations working through a repeater be heard over a wider area than they could be heard on their own. |
